Veteran's Disability is not Social Security Disability, two totally different agencies. I refiled for Social Security Disability, because they went off of the screw ups the VA did. If they do it again,t hen I won't get that either. I explained to them that they need to do their own evaluation of my injuries, and disease, and not go off of the VA's inaccuracies! I am still waiting on the VA, they still ahven't got done what was supposed to be done at the first of December 2011.

It is usually quicker to get VA benefits than the SS Disability. You may want to look for VA representatives (Social Workers) near you to help you with your claim. Some non-profits like the VFW have contacts for finding good caseworkers in your area. I had three people helping me out when my health turned to sh!t. They were excellent and my claims were taken care of in about two months.

I have helped a few of our young veterans who have gotten out of the service get in touch with them.

I am using AMVETs, he finally got back with me a couple hours ago, and said they want to give me another exam to give 100% DISABILITY, but I still need the money in the mean time to pay bills, (sucks on how long it takes them to get anything done), but if they give me 100%, then I can pay my bills off with the back pay. The problem is they may want another exam, but they haven't even scheduled one yet, and that will take them at least a month to get one scheduled! So in the mean time, I can't pay bills!

I was in the same boat with no money coming in to pay bills. The good news is you will get the back pay tax free, but the bad news is the wolves are still at the door while you wait to receive it. I had friends and family help me out and even went to a few food kitchens until I finally got my disability going.

I have friends a sister, but no one that has enough money to help me out. They are just getting by, due to the economy, so I am pretty much on my own here. My daughter has helped some, but her money is for college, not to pay my bills. I won't get squat back on taxes this year. So it all depends on how long they take to compensate me, after this additional exam, (which by the way, makes no sense, since I was already evaluated on each and every injury and disease two years ago, and they are worse than then, so it will still turn up as I should get 100% disability, unless they again ignore their own Doctor's results that does the examination for them. Their Doctor even said I had other problems than what I put in for, so I am not sure why they need to examine me again, it has only gotten worse, not better. Why evaluate for more than 100%, when you can't get more than 100%. They have only been giving me 30%, since they ignored the other injuries, and evaluated only two correctly, and the others incorrectly even though their own Doctor stated they were all as stated from my original claims, and from the military, and was tested by two Neurologist, which both confirmed the nerve damage, along with the injuries, and that they will continue to get worse.

We let our govt divert too much money away from fixing the real problems like the kind max and bob are going thru. And a lot of the diverted monies are creating more similar, neglected messes for us to deal with somehow or other (my 3rd eyes sees a Third Party solution, but eye'm wearing shades for just 2, so that could lead to 3 times the trouble).
Up till now, my venting pales in comparison with yours. ...... Well, why change now:
Every morning I go to our Beach Club and make sure the place is still there. I pick up trash outside and in. Stock the bar, order liquor, beer and snacks, all for "the good of the club". Plus I've always lived closer than the other 150+ members.
Then, wind permitting, I take a walk on the beach. You can watch the sun set into the water sitting inside at the bar, it's that close. We have a sandy trail that leads from our back porch to the high tide line. Theres a few old deteriorating little boats along the path, one is upsidedown and it's a nice place to sit and take it all in.
I collect most my artifacts nearby, theres dolfin and migratory birds galore. Seahorses dried up on the beach from last high tide. You can understand why I don't mind going to our club daily.
If I had a dollar for each piece of garbage left behind by some truly ignorant "people", i'd send some to you guys while in need.
"then I'm gonna put a little in my shoe, and I might even give a piece to you too."
... Peace - can't get enough of it, that's a problem

I love the beach too, I am so envious you are so close. We are about 120 miles from the coast, we live in Washington State.

I so agree, anything I have to whine about is embarrassing compared to what Bob is going through.

but here goes.....
People who litter. I think we need to institue a program where we are allowed to shoot them on site.

We go camping a lot and the things people leave behind. My husband, he puts on rubber gloves and cleans up the firepits and anything else we find. We have even found dirty diapers in the fire pit. What the hell!! what kind of ignorant thoughtless bastard do this!!! and all sorts of other garbage, broken wine bottles, crud the list goes on and on.

Hey luna, so we live at opposite sides of the continent. Any cool places to google earth around you? Here go to sunset beach, cape may pt, nj and you can "walk" around
up and down the beach and locale. People who litter are lousy bastards. The street view of the cape may point lighthouse is nice. Theres 199 steps to go up it, and well worth each step (and the fee). The keepers of the lighthouse were/are a unique sort. I'd like to throw the first born of the litterers off the top of the lighthouse. The view is totally awesome from up there.
What do you camp in. I have a trailer in the woods by a lake, 15 minutes from cape may pt. I wish a huge tree branch would crush the life out of campers in their sleep who don't leave things the way they found them. I made a trail behind the trailer thru the woods to a frog bog. The frogs are soooo loud at nite, but the rythm of their music is sedating. Beautiful purple mushrooms originate around the bog and work their way up our trail to the log pile. Maybe the litterers would like some poisoness mushroom pie.
Damn those selfish, lazy bastards.
... Peace.

Sounds wonderful. We have a truck and trailer, this is only our second year with that set-up, before that we had an older motorhome.

All along the Oregon Coast are lighthouses and a few in Washington as well. I love lighthouses too.

Just to let you all know. I haven't always had it this bad. I have lived in California, Hawaii, and been around the world, and seen many and experienced many beautiful sites, and people. I enjoy life, and help others, even though I have problems, but life is still good, it's just there are mindless souls, who have little conscience out there, and they just do not have a clue. On the light side though is the good and the peaceful, and loving, and caring souls, who are empathatic, and considerate. Peace and love to all!

I agree Bob, there are good people in the world that is for sure. And I know you are just having a bad patch now and I trust things will get straightened out for you.

One thing I have learned in almost 60 years on this planet is: Life is not fair and rarely makes any sense! so we just have to muddle through the best we can.

If they get it right this time, I will be able to straighten out the mess that was made, due to them not getting it right the first time. If they had got it right the first time, I would have not had to complain, they wouldn't of wasted years working on my claims, and they could have had many other claims processed by now, and nopt screwed other veteran's around in the mean time. What gets me, is that the process it flawed acutely, they do their best to deny qualified claims, and it ends up not only costing the Veteran's homes, families, and dignity, but it also makes them and the government and those agencies all look incompetent, and stupid, and makes people just want to get rid of them all, and start over, with something logical, and sensible, and just. ZIt makes me wonder what the criteria is for their jobs, maybe something like this: Needed Ahole, who doesn't have compassion, or empathy, and can ignore facts, and cannot understand or read medical documents, or military or civilian documents either. Needs to be psychopathic, and little bit crazy, so as to be able to justify taking years to do what would only take a couple of months, and doesn't care if it ruins lives! If you know anyone else of this caliber, please have them contact this office immediately, so we can screw some more Veteran's around for a couple of years, or longer.

Yeah, and if that happens, makes me think of the song by Phil Collins, with the lyrics: "I've seen your face before my friend, and if you were drowning, I would not lend a hand!" I do not like being like that, but these people that can live with themselves doing such behavior, is not just irresponsible, but in my bok, it is criminal, and they should be all brought to justice!

I wish things could go back to the way they used to be, when neighbors respected and protected eachother, and if someone committed a crime against humanity, they were no longer among the living, making sure they couldn't do it again. Technology is killing this planet...I know I'm typing this on a computer, but how else would i voice my opinions? As if there would be millions of snail mail addresses to look up, how redundant. Maybe when this so called shift in the solar system occurs, if we survive, it will be like it should be...for a while, anyway...why did everyone have to get in such a damn hurry anyway? Legalize marijuana, it may be used for clothing, paper, save our trees for oxygen that we desperately need geez the stuff was put here for a reason...everything on earth was put here for US to use, legalize it, do it today, empty some jail cells, send the prisoners on "Death Row" to the front lines instead of folks with something to live for !! Death row should actually involve death. And we need to take up arms and overthrow these jackasses...OF the people, BY the people, FOR the people...I don't think so... they're only for that one percent.

Here, here, Leftover Lasagna. A truly healthier planet with legalization of pot. Can't say enough about it.
Then, with the leftover drug enforcement apparatus available, we should test all lawmakers at every level of govt for whatever substances (alcohol too) they bring back inside them after lunch everyday. Let the public know who's writing and enforcing these hypocritical laws.
By the way, my neighbors really do look out for each other. Everyone helps everybody out around here, I love it.
And, I can't remember how many neighbors how many times have left me a little "something" when they knew I was out.

Wow, you're lucky, my neighbors would rip off my hubcaps--they have broken into other cars in our area but we proudly post signage..."Forget the dog........Beware of .40 cal, AR-15, Walther P.22, and my lil .22 shotgun" Oh yeah, I do have a friend down the way that will hook me up when I'm in a bind...good people, but not close enough to be a neighbor.

We have enough bad apples too. They come in all types, and are just waiting to pounce on their prey.
Hate to say it, but i'm all for cameras in appropriate, public places like street intersections. It'd be too easy to track down some of these people who think they can get away with anything. When our club was robbed, it took a lot of manhours for the police to go around to businesses viewing their videos.

Personally, I do not like Big Brother watching me. Yes we need a crack down on real crime, but too many hours are spent on cities just trying to make money so they can spend it on ridiculous stuff. Their budgets are overdrawn, and they spend fruitlessly, to appease the wealthy, and corporations, that give little back. We need an eye on them, not so much on the poor, but more on what criminal activities the rich are playing. A poor person cannot afford an expensive airplane to transport drugs across the waters, or expensive boats for the same. When Bush was in office the first 4 years, the DEA and FBI worked together and busted a bunch of rich high rollers for trafficking, so Bush and the then republican congress made it against the law for them to work together anymore, so as to save his high roller buddies, and so his party could keep getting their money to try and stay in office.

What ever happened to fast food that was made to order and still served to you quickly? I would go to a BK and order their Whopper and it took less than five minutes. They would flame broil it so I would get it fresh.

Now I go to the BK and one of the workers goes to a container with a cooked patty sitting in water. Those taste absolutely nasty and I have to make a big deal for them to cook a fresh one for me.

It may not seem much like a gripe, but I don't get to do fast food often. But when I do, I want to enjoy it and the companies are only interested in saving money. It costs $7 to $10 for one value meal, so the least they can do is cook it to order.

It is interesting to note McDonald's is cooking their stuff to order at most stores.

Yummm...

Hey I was just reading a news story today about this meat glue they have come up with, one of the main ingredients is pig blood and then a few other things. They can glue pieces of meat together to make a steak. And boy doesn't that sound good! So if they have some leftover pieces of raw meat in a resturant, they can glue the pieces together and then serve it to you as a steak.

I'll go find the story...

Ok here we go.

http://www.komonews.com/news/local/138831889.html

The product, also known as transglutaminase, is a naturally-occurring protein that has the ability to turn diced meat into fully-formed steaks.

With beef prices on the rise, many chefs are opting to glue their leftover chunks of meat into a meat log that can be sliced up as steak. The glue is actually a powder made up of blood from pigs, cows and chickens.

I have noticed some old members who have not sent a hello are sometimes never logged out. I don't know what happened to you but know what you mean about typing a huge post only to lose it.

As far as the wormburger at McDonald's goes: It is false.

http://www.snopes.com/horrors/food/wormburg.asp

Basically worms cost too much to make patties out of them, even as filler.

When I started posting here a year ago I was totally inexperienced. I would make long posts like Vance and Metaluna are talking about, and either I'd be logged out or temporarily loose my connection, and the posts would disappear. I didn't know what to do.
For some reason now all I have to do is log in again, back the page up to the post, (first it goes to the blank post, I just keep going back) and try submitting again. Not saying this is what you guys are experiencing, but it's working for me.
God, that was pissing me off to the point of temper tandrems.
OMG, it just happened. Lmfao

I think that those parts of burgers that look like worm parts are really ......................gukky parts of the cow that should have been thrown out but they ground it up in there anyway. Still, it's part of a cow so they can call it beef.

Yero, don't lay around, keep moving. Your sciatica won't go away without exercise which decreases the inflamation. Just don't over do it.

Thnx fotgottentales. This first happened back @ '95. I avoided Drs. and pills all those years, after initial diagnosis. Exercise is key to recovery. A heating pad helps in the am, too. Damn bodies of ours, but when things are feelin good, tasting good, looking good, what would we do without them.
... Peace.

I remember SNL's Weekend Update did a joke on the subject:

"McDonald's today denied the rumor it was putting earthworms into their patties. However, they still cannot explain why when you cut the hamburgers in half they crawl two separate ways." (paraphrasing)

Ok since we're talking fast food at the moment...what about that "Double Down" chicken sandwich from KFC? Are they on a mission to make everyone obese? That is disgusting...instead of a bun they use two fried chicken breasts, bacon, cheese and lettuce. Sheesh.
On the subject of Big Brother watching, there are pros and cons...The average person is videotaped sixteen times a day thanks to these cameras. Now, if you're a good law-abiding citizen, one of these tapes could save your life one day. If you're a criminal, sorry about your luck. Get a good disguise or go into another profession.

Not a criminal at all, just do not like being watched, whether it is for one hour, or 24/7, it is just wrong. I like my privacy, and do not believe anyone has the right to invade that! If I buy a rifle for sport or for hunt, I do not believe they have the right to monitor me for years, just to make sure, I do not use it on them. It is not about them in the first place, it is for my own protection, sport, or legal event. If I buy a greasy chili cheeseburger once a year, it is none of their business! If while driving, I reach over and change my radio station, it is none of their business. If I call someone on a phone, whether at home or on a cell, they should not be able to listen in, it is none of their business. If I choose to go to a mall, instead of wally world, or go buy something used instead of something new, it is none of their business. They watch and know a lot more than you might think. There is almost no activity you do, or can do, that you are not being monitored, to include bathing, showering, sleeping, etc...Big Brother is watching you!
The past has been misconstrued to make believe, but some can see through the veil, while others simply carry on as though the illusion is real!
