Amazing Spray Paint Art

Postby Darkaia » Sat Apr 18, 2009 10:54 pm

My fiance and I were at our local fair, the Pima County Fair, and we came across a guy that does these amazing pictures and portraits with spray paint. We watched him for nearly an hour. It was so amazing that he can turn basically nothing into something beautiful. I HAD to have one of his paintings. So he told me i could have whatever I wanted. So I said what the hey lets do pyramids....this is what he came up with...

And for those of you who like The Nightmare Before Christmas....

This guys name is Matt Sorensen..if you get a chance to go to your local fair look for him. He is amazing.

PS. Sorry for the largeness of the photos but its the only way you can truely appreciate the colors. And sorry for the glare :P

Does he travel to other fairs/carnivals/expos around the country? Because at the Meadowlands fair in NJ four years ago, a guy named Matt did the same thing for me, let me dig it up and take a decent picture of it...it's such a resemblance to yours its scary.

Ok so i found it, but my digital camera is in a box somewhere (i'm moving) so i took a crappy picture with my phone...question though, how do i post a picture?

It probably is the same guy...

I think to get the picture from the phone you need the usb cord for that if you got that done then go to imageshack.us and click browse then host it...there's a link on the very top that says "Direct Link" copy that link and before you paste it in the post click the Img button on the top right of the post buttons...paste the link then press the Img button again all done

Sorry for the crappy pic, again i used my phone so it sucks but it should give you an idea. Especially notice the marbled paint texture of the center pyramid, very similar to yours.

Wow that is pretty similar. Looks really awesome. I love the colors. The marbling on the pyramids that he did was pretty simple, he just threw down a bunch of colors and then stuck a piece of paper over it to lift some of the colors away. It was really neat to watch him make it. Depending on the time when you got that and the time I got mine he may have done what he did to mine, he stamped the back of it with his name and number is that on the back of yours?

a few years back i was in Trafalgar square and there was a spray paint artist working away, he was charging £10 a print and i regret i never bought 1 myself

me and my other half watched him work for about 30 mins and the paintings were VERY similar to those you have posted here.

very cool and skilfully done.

Yeah these were very cheap as well 20$ a piece. Really a good price I think for the amazing work he does. I'm sure he makes bank anyways lol

Mine has a signature on the front bottom corner, not on the back. Though sadly it is illegible as far as i can tell. I paid 25$ for mine because everything in the NYC metropolitan area is overpriced!
