Here are some basic Guidelines that apply to all of the discussion boards at the Legendary Times Forum! If you have any further questions or looking for some help, just e-mail or PM any one of the Moderators individually.

Posts that do not comply with these simple guidelines will be edited, moved, or in some very rare cases, deleted.

Language / Spelling

a) The Board has two official languages, English and Bad English. Deal with it. Posts written in any other language than English will be deleted immediately.

b) Please briefly spell check your post - while innocent spelling mistakes can, do and will happen, please, please, please at least run a brief spell check on your longer posts in order to avoid any potential confusion by other readers of your post.

c) No profanity, racist language, and no baseless attacks and accusations. It is also not allowed to 'mask' any profane words.

Place Posts Where They Belong: In Their Correct Category
For example, if you want to post a bunch of great YouTube clips, please make sure to put that post in the "Clips / YouTube / Videos / Pics / Images / Photos" category and NOT, for example, under "Opinions / News / Rumors / Ideas / New Research". And for example, if you have thoughts about religion, please place your post in the "Religion & Philosophy" section - nowhere else. Failure to do this will result in the Mods MOVING your post to the correct category.

Can't Find Your Post?
In 99.999999% of all cases, your post was NOT (!) deleted. The Mods probably only MOVED your post to the correct discussion board. To find your post, simply go to your profile where you will see a link that says "Find all posts by (insert name)" - and there you go!

Spamming
The posting of ads for the solicitation of sales is not appropriate along with spamming the boards with posts of overt self-promotion. Please don't spam the different folders with repetitive threads on the same subject. (The only option for promoting your own website is to include it in your Profile.) This also includes advertising of your site via PM, especially when this advertising is unwanted by the Members it has been sent to. PM spam will be dealt with harshly.

Trolling / Flaming / Bashing / Baiting
We respect the right of everyone to express their opinions without fear of being attacked or personally insulted. You are encouraged to debate strongly and offer firm opinions. However, if you feel the need to indulge in mean-spirited and personally directed insults, attacks, and quarrels, do so outside of this Forum. Baiting or inflammatory posts designed to attract or elicit predicable responses are not appropriate and persistence in such activity can result in the guilty party being banned.

Screen Names
Members should have one screen name. Sometimes obtaining a second screen name is simply accidental due to problems with signing up and sometimes it's a deliberate effort to facilitate trolling. Either way, it wastes space. So from time to time, we will run IP checks to find the duplicate accounts and delete the duplicates. We will do our best to contact you to let you determine which of your screen names you would prefer to keep. And any Member found using more than one screen name for wrong reasons is subject to immediate removal.

Double Posting
Double posting is defined as posting a message in a thread twice (or more) in a row. You can delete your post by using the xDELETE button.

Editing Your Post
You can edit your post by using the EDIT button and edit your original post if you need to add something.

Font Size
For posts, please only use font size "Normal" - posts with a different (smaller/larger) font size than "Normal" will be edited by the Mods and reverted to font size "Normal."

NO Posts May Be Written IN ALL CAPS

At Least Use Some Type of Punctuation and Paragraphs

Problems with a fellow Member
If you have an issue with the behavior of a fellow member, DO NOT fight it out in threads or PMs but contact a moderator about it! Posting a thread in which you openly talk about your problem with another Member will only make the situation worse!

PMing Multiple Mods
If you have an issue you wish to PM a Mod about, that's perfectly fine AND preferred. That is what we are here for. However, there is no need to PM every Mod about the same issue. We do discuss board issues amongst ourselves, and PMing more than one of us is annoying at best, and a blatant attempt at going around the decision of one Mod by going to another - which we will not appreciate.

"Official" Threads
It seems some people have an urge to label any thread they make as Official. On this Forum, no thread is official unless sanctioned by the Moderators. We will remove the word from any thread that we didn't approve as being official.

No Talk / Discussion About Drugs
This Forum does not condone the use of drugs, and our ancestors were not under the influence of drugs when they reported about mysterious visits by beings from outer space, but misinterpreted these flesh and blood space travelers as "gods" or spiritual beings because their technological frame of reference did not understand the nuts and bolts aspect behind these visits. Since this Forum is also read by children and young adults, if anyone wants to pursue the idea that drugs were the main influence for our ancestors' progress, and that a spiritual realm can only be reached by means of drugs, then we kindly invite you to please go to the appropriate, other non-Ancient Astronaut-related Forums where you can discuss these topics. This is a Forum dedicated to the Classic Ancient Astronaut Theory, which defines that flesh and blood space travelers visited Earth in the remote past - all this was accomplished without drugs.

NOTE: Continued failure to adhere to any of the posting policies will result in deletions of posts, suspension of posting privileges, or complete banning.

To summarize, have fun, but be decent to each other. Just treat others as you would want to be treated. We realize that there will be differing opinions. Netiquette asks that people use simple courtesy, and stop to consider that there may be language difficulties and cultural barriers that require patience, tolerance, and understanding - and in many cases - acceptance.
