I'm glad somebody else brought this up. I have to say it sure beats the hell out of me. When people start going down that road I am completely lost!Tracena wrote:"Exploration of Humanity Continuous for Planetary Advancement" -- how did this message come about from 6 pages of binary code written down by TSGT Penniston? I don't understand how they got that. Interesting though, especially the longitude and latitude coordinates that pointed to Hi Brazil (sp?) Very compelling episode tonight (Dec. 30).

"The legendary land of Hy Brasil (sometimes spelled Hy Brazil or Hoy Brazil or endless variations thereon) has indeed been seen for centuries to the west of Ireland, a sort of Gaelic equivalent of the Mediterranean’s Fata Morgana. Every village on the west coast has its own stories and legends concerning its origin and meaning. My favourite was related to me by a fisherman in the tiny village of Croigh, so many years ago I’m surprised I can still remember it. He told me that Hy Brasil was the piece of heaven which the devil had taken with him when he fell from paradise. And where better to put heaven than next to Ireland?
Similarly, according to some legends, the devil himself lies sleeping within that terrible ebony tomb, behind the ivory door. "
Hy-Brasil, the other Atlantis

It can translate into any language the user wants it to translate to. If TSgt Penniston received the transmission psychically, then he would of received the English version.
I am sure the extraterrestrials would have a form of universal translator for others throughout the universe.

That's why I always try to stick to the things that can be touched and seen. I'm not saying that those two gentlemen are frauds, my point is that the AAT concept doesn't have the luxury to be debunked and laughed after anymore. Let's stick to the things that the biggest woodhead scientist could not oppose. I didn't like that part of the episode although it was a good in general.
And I don't think that any alien being would leave a message so easy to decode. Given all the solid evidence we have around the planet, it's obvious that almost all of the facts are hard to explain/accept. It's not meant to be easy, folks. So in my opinion the whole 'craft in the woods' story should be left behind until something solid pops out.
So I would personally be more satisfied to see in the series more and more, and more about the pyramids and ancient physical evidences. There is so much that they could show us, so they would probably have material for a few more seasons. Wouldn't you agree?

I believe ET's have been around since the begining. They'd have English and every other language on their version of itunes for download. They'd know he spoke English because he'd be thinking in English. They could have given him the message plainly but no, it's like a cheesy episode of the X-Files or something. The more I think about it the less I believe it's true.
If he'd have missed more than one letter I think I'd buy it a bit more, but I don't.

F = 01100110
G = 01100111
He is one digit off, which leaves the possibility of human error.
