The Lost Technologies of Ancient Egypt by Christopher Dunn

This is one fascinating book written by an engineer with over 50 years of experience in his field. Mr Dunn was always fascinated by the pyramids of Egypt and went there to examine them and look for evidence on how they were built. He got sidetracked by the many behemoth statues, monuments and temples that were also built there. He soon realized they were very complicated efforts and very accurately built using precision mathematics and tools.

The book uses geometry and other equations to show how very complicated the faces of Ramses is. There are hundreds of photographs and illustrations in this book to show the work and the finds.

Drill bits and other pieces of very fine construction tools have been found by much earlier Egyptologists. Unfortunately, they were believed to of been simple tools and ignored until Mr Dunn took a much closer look and examined them in his work station. The threads on them are very close and would make the modern machinist quite proud.

He also suggests that giant machines were used to move the huge pieces and put them all together. Unfortunately, no machines are around as many were either cannibalized for other stuff or left to rot away. But the book shows plenty of evidence they were used.

The preface also mentions Gobleki Tepe and how it is a monument built 12,000 to 13,000 years ago. The author does suggest that civilization must be far older than currant academics teaches us. The evidence for that is overwhelming, and yet it is still ignored.

While ancient astronauts are not mentioned in the book, this is a great reference for those who want to show the ancients had a vast amount of knowledge that was unfortunately lost. I recommend this book for the Egyptologist in people out there.

I haven't got this book but I am sure I soon will get it. I was reading some other material and forgot this was mentioned. Once many years ago a golden globe was installed on top of the pyramid and was laid together like leafs. I wonder what the purpose of this was for??? If the pyramid was a power station maybe if functioned to dissapate energy to a hovering spaceship. It seems like little pieces keep falling into place with the pyramids and maybe we will know one day.

I have not read his first book in which he claims the pyramids are used as power grids. This is his second book and he really delves into the evidence that the ancient Egyptians had great knowledge that was lost. The possibility that they had huge machines used to move the blocks into place is very compelling too.

I highly recommend this book as it shows the mainstream Egyptologists that they need to rethink their ideas on ancient Egypt.

While he does not mention ancient astronauts, much of what he states shows either they had a much older civilization or they had help learning all of the mathematics necessary for engineering those wondrous monuments.

I want to get this book too I was reading the reviews on another website and it gets 5 stars, people love it. I would actually prefer a DVD if they made one because I'm not too much of a reader...I like to read magazines or the newspaper but that's about it.. :)

P.S. Try typing the word "a-m-a-z-o-n" without the quotes and hyphens and see what happens.....it's hilarious.

That was from Giorgio to keep people from putting in links to selling stuff here. It is funny when you want to type in the name of a South American river: no-corporate-stores-here! River.

The book is a very good read even for those who don't do much reading. It is quite fascinating and should keep your attention going. Also, you can try to read one chapter at a time, but I read the whole book in one night.
