My husband said I should have described it as florescent blue. It is a better description. Well we may be seeing dead birds, fish, trees, and insects soon. Along with a bad cough that will not go away.

January 11, 2011 12:51 AM

CHICAGO (STMW) – A bizarre scene is evolving on the Chicago lakefront, with Canada geese and mallard ducks gulping down dead or dying gizzard shad.

A major die-off of what appears to be the 2010 class is happening in Chicago harbors. Thousands, perhaps far more than that, of dead gizzard shad in the 3- to 5-inch range are frozen in the ice of Chicago harbors or floating around in open patches of water.

“Gizzard shad are pretty sensitive,’’ Lake Michigan Program biologist Dan Makauskas said. “On the toughness scale, the herrings are pretty soft.’’

Gizzard shad, members of the herring family, are more sensitive to drops in oxygen levels than most fish. And thick ice came early to Chicago harbors in December.

The massive die-off was first documented Thursday by Carl Vizzone, a North Side fisherman who sits on the board of Perch America. What caught his eye was Canada geese and mallards eating dying shad at open water by DuSable and Diversey harbors. “This is not normal,’’ he said.

He’s right, agreed naturalist Joel Greenberg, author of A Natural History of the Chicago Region. Canada geese and mallards normally don’t eat fish, but, Greenberg said, “They are opportunistic.”

Other species of fish do not appear to be involved in the die-off.

Makauskas, who speculated that the young shad may not have built up enough reserves to survive the early onslaught of extreme cold, agreed the die-off is abnormal.

So around the world scientists are experimenting with DNA and stem cells. What if they got samples of DNA from specific birds, fish, plants and made a chemical that ONLY attacked THAT one specific DNA strand that deciphered one breed of bird from the next.

So they take the dove DNA and make the chemical attack only the dove specific DNA and all the other birds get off scott free. Genocide. Humans would be next - killing off the humans that cost the Gov money. Senior citizens, welfare, income below $100k (or whatever they think is low income). Taking it further, wiping out a specific race of people, then coming up with a bull crap explanation of a race specific disease (sickle cell one example) that wipes them out.

Why not test it on birds, fish, insects, trees and such? What loss is it to them? And it proves that the chemical CAN attack species or even breed specific.

Orfeas wrote about the dead bird being collected by persons in bio suits.
I saw one of the pictures of this. This incident has my perceptions working. I knew that the American military had found weapons of mass destruction in Iraq and removed them. I thought at the time that the American government wanted to study and perhaps replicate the WMD. It appears that this has happened. The world wide deaths of the different species does not appear to be a coincident. An old proverb states "where there is smoke there is fire". This is a complete brush fire.
It would appear that a weapons system or several weapons systems were tested. They appear to work in the air and in the water
I wonder whom the enemy is that can fly in the air and under water?

371 dead birds fell from the sky over Los Angeles, California, and hit the pavement at Sunset and Cahuenga. In the great shadow of the CNN building laid scattered hundreds of pigeons, most of them dead. This
is another incident of dead birds falling from the sky, as has been seen in California, Arkansas, Kentucky, Louisiana, Sweden, Italy, and other places around the world.

If today's dead bird incident had been a singular event, we could have blamed Los Angeles smog. 371 birds could no longer take the poor air quality and decided to choke and fall.

The bird drop happened just after noon, and word of mouth passed quickly. I heard about the horrific event from my neighbor, who happens to whistle when he talks and has a goiter on his neck. By the time I arrived at Sunset and Cahuenga, confusion was in full swing and the homelesses were busy picking up the dead birds and stuffing them into their dirty jacket pockets.

The dead birds in this incident were exclusively pigeons, but for the homelesses, they were food. One man had already cleaned his fowl and was arguing with a hot dog vendor about frying it on his hot dog grill. The homeless held a bloody knife and shook the pigeon in the vendor's face. The pigeon's entrails hung at least a foot from the pigeon's slashed belly. The guts swayed as the homeless man passionately pointed his knife at the hot dog grill.

In front of the CNN building was pandemonium. Someone had wished bad luck on these pigeons, and the evidence was strewn all around. Dead birds in the gutters, on sidewalks, stuck in palm trees that dotted the front of the famous news building. Traffic on Sunset had come to a crawl. Jeering faces peered out of car windows, and multiple cars had been rear-ended.

Dead birds in Alabama fuel more Bible prophecy queries

January 14th, 2011

More birds are dead as 300 grackles fell out of the sky near Huntsville, Ala., and slammed into a rash of objects Thursday, Jan. 13.

According witnesses, drivers watched as birds fell dead and flew into trees, poles and cars.

The incidents continue to baffle scientists while theories such as secret government testing, unreported earthquake activity, magnetic field shifts and the Great Tribulation are being mulled.

Each theory has its merits, officials say.

Earthquakes have been recorded in record number near the New Madrid Zone and a number of experts say the Magnetic North Pole is shifting, disrupting flight and migration patterns of birds.

The jury will likely be out for awhile on whether the government is conducting secret testing, unless Alex Jones suddenly produces evidence worth scientific juxtaposition.

As expected, many Christians around the world believe the dead birds, whether killed by earthquakes, magnetic shifts-even testing, is the work of God of the Bible, who may be thrusting the world into the End Times, the chaotic precursor to the return of Jesus Christ.

4th January 2011

Up to 300 dead birds have been found on the side of an Alabama highway in the latest mass animal death to be reported.

The bodies of the birds, identified as grackles, were found strewn along the I-65 highway.

Grackles have also been found dead in their hundreds recently in Arkansas, Louisiana and Kentucky.

It appears that the birds died of blunt force trauma - possibly from being hit by a truck, wildlife biologist Bill Gates told local news station WAFF.

He drew his conclusion from the feathers scattered across the snow, which was bloody in places.

A collision with a big rig is also believed to be responsible for the deaths of over 100 birds whose bodies were found at the side of a California highway last weekend.

One witness to that incident said it 'looked like they were committing suicide'.

The Alabama deaths are just the latest in a series of mass animal deaths around the world that have spurred conspiracy theories all over the internet.

First, the blackbirds fell out of the sky on New Year's Eve in Arkansas. Then it was two million fish in the Chesapeake Bay, 150 tons of red tilapia in Vietnam, 40,000 crabs in Britain and other places across the world.

Blogs connected the deadly dots, joking about the 'aflockalypse' while others saw real signs of something sinister, either biblical or environmental.

The reality, say biologists, is that these mass die-offs happen all the time and usually are unrelated.

Federal records show they happen on average every other day somewhere in North America. Usually, we don't notice them and don't try to link them to each oth

'They generally fly under the radar,' said ornithologist John Wiens, chief scientist at the California research institution PRBO Conservation Science.

Since the 1970s, the U.S. Geological Survey's National Wildlife Health Center in Wisconsin has tracked mass deaths among birds, fish and other critters, said wildlife disease specialist LeAnn White.

At times the sky and the streams just turn deadly. Sometimes it's disease, sometimes pollution. Other times it's just a mystery.

In the past eight months, the USGS has logged 95 mass wildlife die-offs in North America and that's probably a dramatic undercount, Dr White said.

The list includes 900 some turkey vultures that seemed to drown and starve in the Florida Keys, 4,300 ducks killed by parasites in Minnesota, 1,500 salamanders done in by a virus in Idaho, 2,000 bats that died of rabies in Texas, and the still mysterious death of 2,750 sea birds in California.

On average, 163 such events are reported to the federal government each year, according to USGS records.

And there have been much larger die-offs than the 3,000 blackbirds in Arkansas. Twice in the summer of 1996, more than 100,000 ducks died of botulism in Canada.

Are most if not all of these species that are dieing, invasive or their population is in the millions? It might be a good thing?. I don't know what to think about any of this. I know in my state whooping cough is going around, but the news makes it sound like its out of control when in fact its less than ten people who have it, I just don't get it....why do people have to panic over every little godforsaken thing? The common people are their own worst enemy, not the government. Governments come in second..

I do know we need to get a grip, not us, but I mean people in general. Between now and December 21 2012, it is going to get worse every day. But we sure need to keep an eye on the news and get as much real information as we can.

PHOSGENE Poisoning Symptoms

http://www.idph.state.il.us/Bioterroris ... osgene.htm

What is phosgene?

Phosgene is a chemical used to make plastics and pesticides. At room temperature (70°F), phosgene is a poisonous gas. With cooling and pressure, phosgene gas can be changed into a liquid so that it can be shipped and stored. When liquid phosgene is released, it quickly turns into a gas that stays close to the ground and spreads rapidly.

Phosgene gas may appear colorless or as a white to pale yellow cloud. At low levels, it has a pleasant odor of newly mown hay or green corn, but its odor may not be noticed by all people. At high levels, the odor may be strong and unpleasant.

Phosgene was used during World War I as a choking (pulmonary) agent. Among the chemicals used in the war, phosgene was responsible for the large majority of deaths.

How can someone come into contact with phosgene?

Phosgene is not found naturally in the environment. The risk for exposure depends on how close someone is to the place where the phosgene was released. Phosgene may be found in the following:

Air: If phosgene gas is released into the air, people may be exposed through skin contact or eye contact. They also may breathe in air that contains phosgene.
Water: If phosgene liquid is released into water, people may be exposed by touching or drinking water that contains phosgene.
Food: If phosgene liquid comes into contact with food, people may be exposed by eating the contaminated food.
Phosgene as a weapon: Phosgene can be an “agent of opportunity.” This means that someone could explode the vehicle of transportation (truck, train) that is being used to ship the chemical, or destroy tanks that store the chemical. Phosgene would then be released into the air.

Please note: Just because you come into contact with phosgene does not mean you will get sick from it.

How can someone protect themselves from phosgene poisoning?
Leave the area where the phosgene was released and move to fresh air.

If the phosgene release was outdoors, move away from the area where the phosgene was released. Go to the highest ground possible. Phosgene is heavier than air and will sink to low-lying areas.
If the phosgene release was indoors, get out of the building.
What happens if someone gets sick from phosgene?

People who come into contact with dangerous concentrations of phosgene may develop the following symptoms during or immediately after the exposure:

coughing
burning sensation in the throat and eyes
watery eyes
blurred vision
difficulty breathing or shortness of breath
nausea and vomiting
Skin contact can result in lesions similar to those from frostbite or burns.

Following exposure to high concentrations of phosgene, a person may develop fluid in the lungs within two to six hours.

Other effects that may appear up to 48 hours after contact, even if the person feels better or appears well, include the following:

difficulty breathing
coughing up white to pink-tinged fluid
low blood pressure
heart failure
How likely is someone to die from phosgene poisoning?
The effects of phosgene will depend on the amount in the air and the length of time a person is exposed to the chemical. High level of phosgene in the air (more than 2 parts per million) are thought to be an immediate hazard to life and health. Low levels of phosgene in the air are less likely to cause serious health problems.

What is the treatment for phosgene?

Prevention of illness after contact: Leave the area where the phosgene was released and move to fresh air.
Remove clothing.
Quickly take off clothing that may have phosgene on it. If possible, any clothing that has to be pulled over the head should be cut off the body instead so the chemical does not get near the eyes, mouth or nose. If helping other people remove their clothing, try to avoid touching any contaminated areas.
Wash affected areas.
As quickly as possible, wash any phosgene from the skin with lots of soap and water.
If the eyes are burning or vision is blurred, rinse your eyes with plain water for 10 to 15 minutes.
If contact lenses are worn, remove them and put them with the contaminated clothing. Do not put the contacts back in. If eyeglasses are worn, wash them with soap and water. Eyeglasses can be put back on after they are washed.
If you are wearing jewelry that you can wash with soap and water, wash it and put it back on. If it cannot be washed, put it with the contaminated clothing.
Discard contaminated items.
Place the clothing and any other contaminated items inside a plastic bag. Avoid touching contaminated areas of the clothing. If you can't avoid touching contaminated areas, or you aren't sure where the contaminated areas are, wear rubber gloves or use tongs, sticks or similar objects. Anything that touches the contaminated clothing should also be placed in the bag.
Seal the bag, and then seal that bag inside another plastic bag.
Call the local county health department right away.
When the local or state health department or emergency personnel arrive, tell them what you did with your clothes. The health department or emergency personnel will arrange for further disposal. Do not handle the plastic bags yourself.
If someone has swallowed phosgene, do not make the person vomit or give fluids to drink. Seek medical attention right away.

Treatment of illness: Treatment for phosgene consists of removing phosgene from the body as soon as possible. Supportive care (intravenous fluids, medicine to control pain) in a hospital setting is the standard treatment. No antidote exists for phosgene poisoning. People who have been exposed to phosgene should be observed for up to 48 hours, because it may take that long for symptoms to develop or reoccur.
Is there a vaccine for phosgene poisoning?

No, there is no vaccine for phosgene poisoning.

What should be done if someone comes into contact with phosgene?

If you think that you or someone you know may have come into contact with phosgene, contact the local county health department right away.

If you or someone you know is showing symptoms of phosgene poisoning, call your health care provider or your Poison Center

When my daughter was at daycare when she was a little over a year old, she had gotten into paint thinner. She ended up having chemical pneumonia, and first degree burns, she was in the hospital for a week, then had to stay home for two weeks after that.....

I highly doubt any government would use such an obvious chemical. The chemical that is described is said to possibly cause pneumonia, it wouldn't be like normal pneumonia, it would be like what my daughter had. It does not resemble whooping cough, and you darn well would know if you had it. More people would be sicker than hell, if it was dumped out of an airplane or put in the water, even in small amounts, and the doctors would know the difference, between something that was from a normal sickness, and something from a chemical...hell I would be able to know the difference. If they used a small amount just to get you mildly sick, what the heck would be the point of that? None....They either want to kill you or they don't, there is no middle ground.

200 dead cows found in Wisconsin field

OWN OF STOCKTON, Wis. —
An investigation is under way after 200 dead cows were found in a field in the Town of Stockton.

The Portage County sheriff's office says the owner of the cattle has been working with a local veterinarian and it's believed the animals died from the IBR/BVD virus. The virus can cause respiratory and reproductive problems.

WSAW reports samples from the dead cows have been sent to Madison for testing.

Authorities say there is no threat to humans or other animals.

Thousands of dead octopuses wash up on Portugal beach

Thousands of dead octopuses have washed up on a beach in northern Portugal, in what is being called an environmental disaster.

They cover a 5-mile stretch of Vila Nova de Gaia beach - no reason has yet been found for their appearance.

The authorities have warned the public not to eat them.

Pelicans turn up sick, dead off Jacksonville coast
Founder of sanctuary treating the birds blames chemicals in the water.

Hundreds of Eastern brown pelicans, some with missing wings and frostbite, have been injured or killed in the St. Johns River the past couple of weeks in the Mayport area.

The exact reason is unknown but the cold weather could have caused hypothermia when the birds landed in the water. The pelicans have been losing a protective coating they have on their body to shield their feathers from becoming saturated by water.

Cindy Mosling, co-founder of the Bird Emergency Aid and Kare Sanctuary on Big Talbot Island, thinks chemicals in the water could be the culprit.

Mosling and her team, which consists of her husband and their only employee, Jose Gutierrez, have been capturing the sick birds for a more than a week when they fly to an open feeding area at their facility. They spot the weak ones and bring them in to be cleaned, warmed and fed.

The sanctuary, known as BEAKS, has about 20 sick pelicans huddled inside a tentlike heated room that are being cared for as more injured pelicans show up.

Without their protective coating, Mosling said the pelicans have no shield from the cold water.

“How would you feel if someone put a wet blanket over you and made you sit outside in the cold?” she said.

Mosling has seen at least 20 dead pelicans so far. Karen Parker of the Florida Fish and Wildlife Conservation Commission said 15 pelicans were found dead Sunday but couldn’t explain the reason.

Bobby Taylor, president of the Florida Open Beaches Foundation, said he hasn’t seen anything that would point to chemical contaminants in the water. But the cold could be taking its toll.

“This is the coldest water I’ve seen in awhile,” Taylor said.

Mosling said this has been happening to the birds for 30 years and cites aqueous film-forming foam as the root of the pelicans losing their protective coating.

About seven years ago, a similar incident occurred when 60 dead pelicans were found in the river near Mayport. There were suspicions that the fire-fighting foam chemical could have contaminated the river when 60,000 gallons was used to put out a gasoline fire in 1993, according to Times-Union archives. The chemical has since been pulled off the market, but the substance can remain in the environment for years, Mosling said.

“The river is like an open sewer,” she said.

In the warming pen at BEAKS, the pelicans hold their feathers in the air because they are soggy and clumped without the protection from their water-repellent coating. They are fed fish multiple times a day, which Mosling’s husband has to buy with the money they get through donations and their own personal income.

BEAKS has been caring for injured birds since it was founded about 30 years ago. It has cared for injured pelicans since it formed and has seen pelicans that have been hurt and killed in the same way. Mosling said nothing is being done to fix the problem.

Yankton Sees Bird Kill-Off

It is estimated that more than 200 dead starlings were found in downtown Yankton Monday. However, it is not believed the deaths pose a threat to humans.

Yankton Animal Control Officer Lisa Brasel estimated that she collected 200 starlings Monday, and employees of the city Parks and Recreation Department were also on the scene picking up deceased birds. The total number of corpses gathered up by city employees has not yet been compiled.

“I talked to one of the local vets, and they said there is nothing wrong (with the birds),” said Brasel, who took specimens to a veterinary office. “They just didn’t migrate and are dying. I was going to call the South Dakota Department of Health to see what they have to say about it, but they are closed today (because of Martin Luther King Day).”

The birds were found around trees on the north side of Riverside Park, as well as on the north side of Second Street between Capitol and Pine streets.

The mass bird death in Yankton comes on the heels of other large animal kill-offs around the world that have people buzzing. Many began taking notice when, on New Year’s Eve, an estimated 5,000 blackbirds dropped dead in Beebe, Ark. Since then, reports of more bird deaths, as well as those of crabs, cows and fish, have come in from around the world. Some of the incidents have been attributed to pedestrian causes — birds colliding with objects and each other after a fireworks display, or cows with a virus — while others await explanation.

Some of the more creative accounts have the deaths related to secretive government experiments or, for those familiar with the movie “2012” and many books with similar apocalyptic predictions, the supposed end of the world.

However, scientists have been downplaying the events.

“Five billion birds die in the U.S. every year,” Melanie Driscoll, a biologist and director of bird conservation for the Gulf of Mexico and Mississippi Flyway for the National Audubon Society, told the New York Times recently.

That means 13.7 million birds die in the United States every day, the Times points out.

Nevertheless, the explanations of scientists don’t always ease the shock of seeing so many dead animals in one place.

Alison Brown, who works in the area where the birds were found in downtown Yankton, said at first the bird corpses just looked like clods of dirt under the trees. However, she later noticed the macabre nature of what she was seeing.

“I’m concerned as to what would be the cause of this,” Brown said.

She quickly recalled the reports of bird deaths she had seen on the news.

“The first thing I did when we saw the birds is, I looked it up online to see if they had figured out what caused the incidents in other areas,” Brown stated.

Brasel said that, in more than 10 years in the animal control field, she had never witnessed anything like it.

Late Monday afternoon, after city crews had picked up many of the birds, some corpses still remained.

“I would go to pick up one bird, and I’d find a pile four birds deep,” Brasel said.

Some dead birds remained clinging to the trees. She called the scene “creepy.”

“I did find a couple that were alive, and I took them to the vet clinic,” Brasel said. “They died within 20 minutes. They seem to be healthy. They are not skinny like they’re starving to death.”

She had also received a report of dead robins by a house in the city, but otherwise the bird deaths seemed confined to the downtown area where a thick flock of birds has been congregated for some time, flying between the trees and making a good deal of noise.

“I think it’s just a fluke thing,” Brasel said.

55 buffalo die mysteriously on southern Cayuga County farm

January 20

Sempronius buffalo farmer Peter Head has lost 55 animals to a mysterious illness since October, but autopsies have shown no clear cause of death.

"We're going nuts down here trying to figure out what's going on," he said. "This is going to put me out of business. That's half my frickin' herd."

Head and his wife Deborah have run PDH Buffalo Farm on Route 41A for nine years. This year, 17 of his 23 calves died and he has stopped selling meat as a precaution.

"I don't want to be selling buffalo meat when I don't know what's going on here," he said.

Cornell University's College of Veterinary Medicine conducted necropsies on several of the carcasses but found only dehydration, Head said.

Ron Podolak of the Cayuga County Soil and Water Conservation District said there is no indication that disease is spreading to neighboring farms.

"In my career, I don't remember anything quite like this," Podolak said. "There's die-offs, but usually they can determine what it is right away and treat them. ... I just wish there was something more we could do to help Pete. This is a catastrophic loss for him."

The SWCD is conducting water samples from springs on the farm, but the results have not yet come back, Head said.

I think this is what you were talking about...it was nothing unusual and 89 bison died out of 45,000 that he owns, not a whole lot really.

Hundreds Of Dead Birds In South Dakota Were Killed By U.S. Government

When hundreds of dead birds were found Monday in Yankton, South Dakota, many residents were puzzled, thinking it was the latest in a string of similar mysterious mass animal deaths around the world. But this is one instance of the many where a clear cause has been identified, as the U.S. government claims responsibility for killing the more than 200 starlings.

It was initially believed that cold weather may have caused the bird deaths, but then Yankton police received a call from the USDA, attesting that they had poisoned the birds at a feedlot 10 miles away, KTIV reports. Apparently, some 5,000 of the birds were defecating in the feed meal, posing a threat to the animals and farm workers, when the USDA decided killing them would be the best action to take.

A bait laced with the poison DRC-1339 was used, though officials were surprised the birds made it so far before dying. They assure that the poisoned dead birds do not pose a risk to nearby animals or humans.

While the mystery of dead birds falling from the sky in South Dakota was quickly solved, similar mass animal deaths around the world remain enigmatic. 200 dead cows were recently found on a farm in Wisconsin, with a disease or pneumonia suspected as the culprit. Prior to that, mass bird deaths ranging from dozens to thousands were reported in Arkansas, Alabama, Louisiana, Kentucky, California, Italy and Sweden. Mass fish death had been report in Arkansas, Maryland, Chicago, New Zealand and Brazil, and 40,000 crabs washed ashore beaches in England.

Officials don't believe any of the incidents are related, and suspect a wide range of causes to be responsible, from cold weather and fireworks to semi-truck collisions and overeating, though they admit in many instances a clear cause may never be identified. According to The AP, mass animal deaths are not a rare occurrence.

Bunch of bull again from our own Gov! They know they can't hide the truth so they are willing to admit to another lie closer to the truth, just to shut the smart people up! They didn't poison those birds because they were defecating in the meal! They KNEW autopsy reports would show poison, so they came up with a half assed story which will ADMIT to the Gov involvement, yet not to the degree it really is involved. Create the fear! It was threatening your health! - HAARP or DNA specific poison, that's most likely the entire truth! Once again, people you must to some degree feel insulted.

Hundreds Of Little Blue Penguins Dying

Dying birds stir extinction fears

Little penguins are dying in their hundreds, leading conservationists to fear they are starving as a result of the La Nina weather system.

Other seabirds are washing up dead on beaches, raising concerns that species could become extinct if climate change causes extreme weather events to become more frequent.

At Wellington Zoo, two starving little blue penguin chicks have been brought in this week. One died on Wednesday and the other, found at Lyall Bay, was hanging on to life yesterday.

The zoo's veterinary science manager, Lisa Argilla, said petrels were also starving around Wellington's south coast, and five shags had been brought in this month. "They're unable to find enough food. We've had a lot of starvations and a lot of mortalities."

At Banks Peninsula, hundreds of little white-flippered penguin chicks have died of starvation, according to Shireen Helps, who has been caring for the colony on her property for about 25 years.

"There were chicks dying in their burrows, in the hillside, and heaps dying on the water."

Dr Argilla said the calm La Nina seas meant fewer small fish and plankton close to the surface of the water for them to feed on.

Those brought into the zoo were likely to be just a very small portion of those dying. She was concerned that more frequent extreme weather events could lead to extinctions in some species – penguins, for example, needed five or six years of good conditions for populations to regenerate.

The strong La Nina had brought with it conditions that made for a bad breeding year. "They're natural occurrences that always happen, but now they're happening more regularly and it's playing havoc with wildlife populations."

However, National Institute of Water and Atmospheric Research principal scientist James Renwick said it was unknown whether La Nina would be stronger or happen more frequently in future.

This year's La Nina was the strongest since 1975, when Conservation Department seabird scientist Graeme Taylor said many hundreds of seabirds died.

This year shearwaters in northern North Island colonies were dying because of a lack of feeding opportunities, he said, and gannets at Muriwai and Great Barrier Island had experienced a "major failure" of breeding. "Birds are just sitting on empty nests."

Mrs Helps and husband Francis have 1063 breeding pairs at their colony, but most of the chicks that hatched between October and December have died.

The population had risen from 717 breeding pairs in 2000, but Mrs Helps believed the number of little penguins at the colony could fall next year.

Unusually warm currents had made it difficult for adults to find food, leading them to stay out searching at sea for too long while their chicks needed feeding, she said.

"The chicks got thirsty and hungry and realised Mum and Dad weren't coming back. A lot ended up in the sea but they were too young."

The penguins needed to weigh at least a kilogram before they could survive at sea, but when chicks were rescued, it was initially difficult to get them eating again.

10,000 Cattle Dead In Vietnam: Cows, Buffalo Part Of Mass Die-Off

In the latest of a string of mass animal deaths, 10,000 cows and buffalo have died in Vietnam.

Vietnam's Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development confirmed the news this week that more than 10,000 cows and buffalos died nationwide due to harsh weather conditions.

Cattle have been dying throughout Vietnam, which has had a particularly intense winter. The northern mountainous province of Cao Bang was hardest hit with 2,260 dead cattle, per Thanh Nien News. Some have said the number of total dead cattle may be as high as 13,000.

Mass animal deaths have been in the news quite a bit lately. Hundreds of birds were found dead in South Dakota early this week, and before that birds were found dead in Italy and birds fell from the sky in Arkansas, among other incidents.

Some of the mass die-offs have been explained - for instance, indigestion is thought to be the cause in Italy and the U.S. government has admitted involvement in the South Dakota case. But others remain up for debate.

Beijing Reports Mass Bird Deaths

A massive wild bird kill is reported from a Beijing suburb.

Dozens of dead blackbirds, mallards and magpies have been found along the banks of the Xiaojing River, according to the Huang’jiu Ribao newspaper.

A staff member of a centre for hygiene and epidemiological control does not rule out that the birds have died of starvation and unfavourable weather conditions.

Mass bird deaths for no obvious reason has been registered in Sweden, the United States, Italy and Canada since early this year.

canary in the coal mine indeed

Postby amyrene33 » Sat Jan 22, 2011 3:15 pm

thanks for bringing me up to speed as I dont watch news and didnt catch sudden global mass animal deaths. The funny thing is that not one explanation accounts for the cases all over the world. I live in missouri where the weather is subject to change drastically from 70*F to 20*F in a matter of hours and have never seen it kill the fishies, nor have I ever seen mass bird deaths as a result of thunderstorms Phosphogene may well be the culprit in this region but what about the others? Im not ready to accept it as fact so easily because it seems to be a lot of smoke and mirrors. Look this way while I move that way. Whatever the explanations I wont be eating meat for a while and Im not so sure about veggies and it definitely warrants some serious and honest investigation. Pole shift doesnt seem right because there should be other factors along with the deaths. Haarp is thought to be recently active in Australia, one of the affected areas and Missouri/Arkansas was recently hit with what I would call a tornadic swarm. I have lived here 32 years and it topped the scale for strange. Likely that all of these things are related, wether by birth or implantation we and the animals and plants in our environment are one single organism each affecting the other. Be it solar be it manmade or earthmade it would serve us all well to get to the bottom of this.

Oysters Vanishing From Oceans Worldwide, Biologists Say

Postby Gemini » Thu Feb 03, 2011 4:48 pm

85% of oyster reefs have been lost globally.

http://www.foxnews.com/scitech/2011/02/ ... port-says/

Oysters are "functionally extinct" in many locations around the globe due to disease and overharvesting, a new study has found.

The wide-ranging survey, published in BioScience, the journal of the American Institute of Biological Sciences, compares the past and present condition of oyster reefs around the globe. The international team of researchers led by Michael Beck of the Nature Conservancy and the University of California found that more than 90 percent of former reefs have been lost in most of the "bays" and ecoregions where the prized mollusks were formerly abundant.

In many places, such as the Wadden Sea in Europe and Narragansett Bay, oysters are rated "functionally extinct," with fewer than 1 percent of former reefs persisting. The declines are in most cases a result of over-harvesting of wild populations and disease, often exacerbated by the introduction of non-native species.

"Overall, we estimate that 85% of oyster reefs have been lost globally," the study says. "Most of the world’s remaining wild capture of native oysters comes from just five ecoregions in North America, yet the condition of reefs in these ecoregions is poor at best, except in the Gulf of Mexico."

Beck's team examined oyster reefs across 144 bays and 44 ecoregions. It also studied historical records as well as national catch statistics. The BioScience authors rate the condition of oysters as "poor" overall.

Oysters provide important ecosystem services, such as water filtration, as well as food for people. The survey team argues for improved mapping efforts and the removal of incentives to over-exploitation. It also recommends that harvesting and further reef destruction should not be allowed wherever oysters are at less than 10 percent of their former abundance, unless it can be shown that these activities do not substantially affect reef recovery.

Got a new one to add, this time from inside a Canadian museam-

20 000 bees die in Canada

Ottawa - A Canadian museum launched an investigation on Friday into the sudden death of 20 000 bees on display in a glass encased hive.

"All 20 000 bees died within 48 hours," Amanda Fruci, publicist for the Royal Ontario Museum in Toronto, told AFP.

"The cause is being investigated but we know for sure that it wasn't colony collapse syndrome because that involves bees leaving a hive and never coming back, and in this case they all died in the hive."

In normal times, bee communities naturally lose around five percent of their numbers.

But with the syndrome known as colony collapse disorder (CDD), a third, half - sometimes even 90% or all - of the insects can be wiped out.

In the United States, government figures released last year showed a 29% drop in beehives in 2009, coming on the heels of declines of 36 and 32% in 2008 and 2007.

Mysterious decimation of bee populations have also been reported in Europe, Japan and elsewhere in recent years, threatening agricultural crops that depend on the honey-making insects for pollination.

Thousands of visitors had viewed the bees at work in a specially designed glass hive in the Royal Ontario Museum's popular hands-on biodiversity gallery over the past two years.

They were perfectly healthy until last week when they suddenly died.

The museum has already ruled out starvation or errors by staff as causes of death, but said poor ventilation, a parasite or too few worker bees to keep the comb warm over the winter may be to blame.

Re: List of the startling accounts of Dead birds and fish

Postby amyrene33 » Tue Mar 01, 2011 6:21 am

I have been discussing these chem trails with friends and neighbors for months because we all noticed that right after they spray we all get sick immediately, viruses have an incubation period. now I know why my family and I have been sick since last summer, let me add that I have only been sick 4 times in my life until last year and have not been well since. Thank you for the collen thomas link now I know what they are spraying and how to get us better. Also it is comforting to know there are others who are "awake" and willing to do something about what is happening to our people and our planet.

I think with regard to the chemtrails that it may also be affecting our weather. It seems in my area (North Texas) that when they spray it's always a day later that we have rain in the area or in the very least very overcast. I am not sure what kind of correlation they have but they must have some because it's just too uncanny to me. It's always right after the spraying.
I'm not sure if there is a correlation to becoming sick for myself but I have heard of others saying the same thing. I may not notice it because I am in area that is hugely affected by crosswinds from all over the country and we are really prone to allergies here. I may be excusing one for the other, hard to tell but I do believe that others stand firm that they are becoming sick and do not doubt them. Seems like more and more come forth each day such as yourself. There is definitely far too many to ignore.

28 dead baby dolphins wash up on the gulf coast.

I dont have the link but I just read it a few minutes ago.

Back to the chem trails and phosgene poisoning, I have lived near st lois International airport all my life and I remember asking my dad when I was four Why do only some of the planes make clouds? Well now I know. All the while I thoght I was allergic to grass because everytime I smell that smell I get sick. It was stated that you would know if they were poisoning you and doctors would know if it were poisoning. Think of this pharmaceutical companies make sizeable donations both to medical schools and to politicians and have the power to influence many things including what doctors are taught to prescribe in medical school for which symptoms. prescriptions which in turn make them more money, maybe they are not trying to kill us just to keep us sick/busy. I know that everytime it rains here in Ofallon MO bright and early someone sends planes up to crop dust the people and the next day everyone is sick.

I also know that near the sight of this alleged burial attempt of phosgene gas in Ark. there was also an unprecidented "earthquake swarm" and a lot of dead animals.

Today we have 28 dead baby dolphins and it is being blamed on the gulf spill during mating season, we all know that pregnacy is a very vulnerable time for any species for mother and child so if this is true then where are the dead baby other creatures with shorter gestation?

phosgene gas would be an unlikely culprit in the ocean as water disipates it unless they sprayed it over a pod and because the babys are on the surface for longer they had more exposure.

I cant see what would be the purpose of such an act.

I dont feel I have enough information to say it is this or that killing all these creatures but I feel I can state in an open minded forum such as this that I dont exactly belive in and trust the explanations of a government who uses and perpetuate religion as a form of socialogoc control and knowingly poisons its people in order to sedate them by way of fluoride and other toxic chemicals and tells us we are alone in the universe when so much evidence exist to contradict, clearly weather balloon like explanations cant be trusted and so I will keep looking.

There will be a war or crisis in the news and economic troubles to distract us Im sure. no worries.

Does anyone live near any of the places/facilities suppossedly doing the autopsies on any of these animals?
Maybe you know someone who knows someone involved.

It would be really great if we actually go there and meet with these people face to face and ask questions because its a lot harder for most people to lie to someones face than by paper or email and since we are not officials or reporters we may have a shot at the truth.

We are all science minded here lets see if we can uncover some truth.

I do from growing up in Fort Walton Beach Florida, it's a whole lot of algae in the water where it actually colors the tide.
There's a whole wiki on it for more:
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_tide
I do suppose depending on the source of it that it could be harmful to the fish, but it's startling that it's millions of them...

editing for this pic....this is incredibly scary...this is not sand around these boats, these are the fish...

Thanks for the wiki link. I was thinking maybe all these deaths are from methane, if its only a little bit wouldn't it kill just the little animals and possibly make bigger animals sick? Maybe, Earth is bloated and is trying to let out some gas

We clam dig whenever we can, whenever it is allowed and we always have to be aware of the red tides. They will close the beaches to digging, it happens all of the time. Never saw anything like that picture of all the dead fish before.
