The key to your kids not getting sick is to let them get dirty and and play outside with no shoes to build their immune system up...people who are always mortified to see a speck of dirt on their kids usually have sickly children who miss school all the time.

I had a bad sinus infection (it clogged up my ears so I thought I was going deaf) and it took several months of inhaling this medication to take care of it. They last much longer than I thought it would, but everything is good now.

With youngsters, it always goes around the house in a never ending cycle it seems.

For ear infections I use peroxide, clears up by the next day if you catch it in a reasonable amount of time. For a clogged up nose I use warm salt water and a syringe(sometimes if you can clear the nose it will let up the pressure on your ears and that sometimes makes the ear pain ago away.), and gargling warm salt water also helps with the strep throat;) Another thing that helps with the strep is gargling either plain peroxide or mouthwash that has peroxide in it. Hope you all get to feeling better.

Your ears will eventually "pop" and clear up but it takes a while for the medications to take effect.

Something else I can't stand.

When people have toddlers and say when asked their age, "Oh he's 27 months old."

No he's not. He's 2 YEARS OLD....or he's 18 months old...no he's not he's about a 1 year and a half.

What are you going to say he's 60 months old when he's 12?

Some people can't let go....I swear.

LOL @ Sagitarii. Too funny! I'm with you there. But I must confess, I think when I was "in it" ... I was doing the same thing. All I know is I let that go a long time ago but they (twins) are still here ... why? lol 20.5x12=246mos. old!

I kid saying why ... i didn't leave home until i was about 276mos old. I wish I could go home and have my mom tell someone I'm 636mos old.

My peave is this: Whenever I say something to certain people, about anything that happened or something I did, they always feel that they have to give me advice.

HEY dude! I wasnt asking for advice. I was just saying that [whatever the subject].

Why do some people want to give advice whenever they open their mouth? The worse are single people who want to give parental advice or computer Illiterates who want to tell me how to troubleshoot a computer. Neither group knows bleep about the subject, so why do they continually give advice? It would be different if they had IQ's in the triple digits.

The funny thing is they sell diapers for babies 48 months old and older. That is 4 years old and older. If they aren't potty trained by then, are the kindergarten teachers going to have to change them?

When you tell some people your problems, it might seem to them you are fishing for advice. My advice to you is not to tell anyone about the problems unless you are prepared to hear the advice. 8)

Or the people who always have to one-up you. Doesn't matter what you did or bought or whatever.

"We just got back from a trip around the world"..."Oh that must have been exciting, did I ever mention I have walked on the moon."

Or no matter how you did something, they have a better way..."What you should have done was"....or "yeah that's good, but if you did it this way it would be better."

Ha that is funny. I had a lady i worked with few years back that was like that...so much so that she has never been promoted because she gets on everyone's nerves.. you kinda want to give her a neon sign. My boyfriend's sister is like that also. He wonders why I avoid her at parties.

Posts combined by admin. Please no doubleposting. Wait until someone else comments please.

Umm today I definitely do! I am tired of people who have no concept of money or who spend it constantly. I have a friend that she and her husband together maybe make 60 thousand at the most. And are always buying things for their 3 year old. Like BIG things! They have more than one vehicle, two houses, and never seem to have any financial issues and they eat out every day! I'm working two jobs, my boyfriend works 2 jobs one ft and pt on weekends.. It is just amazing how people are with their money. We struggle to make all our payments on time which includes all the extra stuff like cable - I did get rid of my internet at home because I use my phone for mostly everything. together we pull in maybe 70?? We don't eat out a lot. I am a coupon shopper etc.. just boggles the mind here. And slightly annoys me. Especially when i had to run errands to pay a bill today and missed my lunch.. luckily I had some string cheese!!

Those people are probably way over their heads but are not telling people about it. I watch Suze Orman and she gets all kinds of people like that.

The best thing to do is make sure your financial house is in order.

I didnt say I was telling them problems. I never tell them my problems. I am just saying something. For example, I might say, "I sold two items today on eBay" and then the person will be telling me how I should spend the money. Or I might say, "My daughter is getting a new car next week", then the person will say, "She should get these brands because ..."

Thats what I mean. That brings up another pet peeve. When I say somthing online about a pet peeve, some people assume that I was telling them my problems. They never read the original message very closely.
Sorry, I couldnt resist.

I got another venting: I have a friend that I have known for years. He says he is turning into a Redneck, Right wing Christian, and is now prejudice also. Then about an hour ago, I mentioned my daughter gave me a new book to read, and this guy said it is better to have an empty mind, than one filled with BS. I never even got to tell this guy what the book was, or was about, yet he assumed it must be BS. I tell ya this guy is really turning into a nut since the Christians got a hold of him. He used to be a spiritual guy, but now he is turning into a nut case. They really must have got him brainwashed to thinking the only thing you are supposed to read is the Bible, and only what his preacher tells him to read. Thank the GOD Consciousness I am not a Christian. I would rather be open minded than closed minded, and closed minded is what he seems to be turning into. I hate losing a long time friend to religion, but I know everyone has their own path to follow.

Went to garage sales for the first time this year, and let me tell ya..it was either junk or expensive junk! I think people have forgotten that garage sales are meant to be a way to get rid of your crap for a little bit of money, not for a freakin' income, and why do people think that someone would want to buy broken, worthless crap? I did get two xmas rugs that were in good shape for fifty cents, not bad, but thats all I ended up with after driving to 10 different sales.

I know garage and yard sales can be a lot of crap. I went to one though, that had 2 boxes of books. I paid 2 dollars for them both, and I got some fantastic books, that are worth a few hundred dollars, a couple of old Art books that might even be worth a couple hundred each, and another was an old book on a autobiography of Abraham Lincoln. I have known people to buy stuff at garage sales for pennies on the dollar and some things they picked up were worth thousands, so you never know, you might just get lucky.

I remember this happened to some of my friends throughout my life. It does seem like a waste as they stopped thinking and turned into overdrive Christians. All they wanted to do is convert me and talk about how wonderful Jesus was. After they changed, they drifted away as friends. It is sad, but you are going to find other friends in the long run.

People are watching all those antique shows and think every piece of junk is worth a fortune. They also don't see the parts of the show where they fix the items if they are broken or restore them to resell them.

I went to a used goods store and saw junk that cost more used than I could get at Wally World for much less.

I think it was last year or the year before, I bought a box full of old house architecture books for the late 1880's-1930's for three bucks. I love the older architecture, the newer houses that they build are so plain looking they have no character or beauty to them. My fave is the victorian houses so much detail and hard work went into them. If I ever win the dang lottery thats what I will build out in the country some where.

Yes the older homes are more beautiful, but they are not safe. There is a site called megalithic dome homes, and those homes are safer, also concrete pyramid homes are safer. These two styles of homes have withstood tornadoes, earthquakes, fire, and floods. Of course debris from tornadoes can penetrate where doors and windows are, and floods can do the same, but the structures stay intact. AS far as earthquakes, I have read that the structures have stayed intact also. The damage compared to square built homes is minimal and is of furnishings, not the structures themselves. I am sure a 10.5 earthquake could do some damage, but so far, there has not been one, as far as we know.

Awwwwee, Bobbb you burst my dream bubble!! lol jk There are ways to make normal houses safer and stronger, like anchoring your walls(frames) to the ceilings and such. If I had the money to build that house, I would diff. use that money to secure it with the latest tech. I don't know about the concrete structures, I think it would make me feel a little claustrophobic.

Ah, claustrophobic, but they have the same amount of space, just shaped differently. To utilize newer technology on box homes, cost a lot of money, whereas the others cost about the same as a normal built box house. Of course it may take awhile getting used to a different outlook on a home, and adjusting to a round or pyramidal structure, but just like someone getting used to the oscar meyer weiner mobile! Ha! Ha!

I feel your pain siren, I too have had to deal with people like that. I am retired from that now, Thank GOD, or the Gods, or whatever. It is hard to believe I miss it sometimes, but I believe I was used to so many things going on at different times, that it was almost addicting to have so much to do all the time. I became a workaholic for quite a lot of years. I am glad I can take it easy now, and enjoy life more. I hope you can find some peace, even when having to deal with Stupid Stinky Monkey People.

I also knew a few people like this. I do think they are actually smarter than we are as they actually know how to do the job, but found a way to skate all day long and get paid for it. In the end, it is the hardworking few that actually do the work but don't get any credit (other than the paycheck).

I learned long ago extra effort get's you nowhere at my job. However brown nosing seems pretty effective.....though that's not me. I do my job, nothing more and nothing less. I tried doing extra things here and there and no one appreciates it so NOW I do my job and go home that's it. I'm not trying to be buddies with the boss and golf with him he can kiss my ass....lol.

I have also learned a long time ago, that attitude is everything. If I keep a good attitude daily, then all will come out okay at the end of each day, and in time recognition of a job well done comes along. I know that is not much, but it is better than most ever get from brown nosing, or lying, or cheating, or trying to one up another. It is a slow process by just keeping a good attitude, a good boss in time will recognize that you have been the cornerstone, and best example of what a good employee really is. Even in the military it took me years to be recognized as having the best all around attitude, and that I really did do the best job, and completed all mission efficiently and correctly. I may have pissed off some people along the way, but it was actually jealousy on their part, or if it was people I was supervising it was because they had to do the job right each time, and on time, or get it done efficiently. I learned how to be a good leader, by being a good employee. I just stayed away from all the gossip and back stabbing, and let the others stab each other, while I got the job done.

Garner Snakes! We haven't seen any at all this year, so I was thinking they found some where else to slither around, and I was thanking "god" for that, up until today....I had just got home and was walking around the car and my daughter was already up on the deck when I about step on the son-of-a-gun! It was a big one too.
My reaction was.. Image

and my daughter was like what mom what? Then it slithered across the sidewalk in front of the deck and she went crazy. I have never heard her scream so loud, and she jumped off the deck running to me balling. Everyone in town is probably now deaf;) I hate snakes, I really, really do hate them!

Theory! Too funny. That brought back memories and made me laugh.

My wife hates snakes too. She had a similar incident, I pointed out that Garner Snakes are harmless, and she said "I don't care, they are SNAKES!!! !!!" That was followed by a grand eye-roll with a combination "you really cannot figure that out" incredulity-look.

I don't really understand the fear, but when it comes from the woman of the house, I have learned to respect it (fear the fear sort of speak ;-)).
