AMAZING new footage shows two disc-shaped objects flying through a massive dust cloud in Arizona.
The 100-mile-wide sandstorm - called a haboob - engulfed the small town of Mesa on July 6.

Airport authorities were forced to ground all flights out of Phoenix's Sky Harbour International Airport.

But one CNN News helicopter captured footage that appears to show two mysterious objects darting in and out of the dust cloud.

The video was streamed live on air and has been causing a storm of its own across the web ever since.



The glowing orbs fly just ahead of the storm, before one ascends to the top of the cloud wall.

Just before it moves out of the frame, the flying object appears to grow and change shape, with a ring of light appearing around it.

YouTube user QueenKaidrea believes the orbs cannot be planes since "planes don't hover, planes don't glow, planes have lights that blink and change colour".

Haboobs are common in desert regions throughout the world.

Caused by a downburst of wind that's pushed forward by a thunderstorm cell, they can kick up gusts of up to 70mph and stretch for up to 100 miles wide.

It's not the first time UFOs have been sighted during natural disasters.

Hovering objects and thousands of flashing lights were reported in Japan before, during and after the 2011 Tsunami.

Very cool video (and name naboob!). Hopefully more analysis of the video will be done to determine what those objects are.

Who would be dumb enough to fly into a naboob? If one has a solid enough ship that could withstand the excesses of time and space.

That is either a real "flying saucer" or some kind of electrical orb created from the dust particles in the air.

That is my thinking as the planes we have might survive it, but the dust and dirt would destroy much of the systems on them. The way some think flying saucers work, this would be a cakewalk for them.

My one problem with the video is there appears to be no sound when I view it.

kind of like how they said the triangle formation next to iceland's volcanic splurge was birds (chuckle) when they would have either been vaporised due to heat or they wouldnt have been able to breath

if they were electrical orbs then wouldnt there be more and not move with what looks to be intent?

i watched the video a few more times now and i think i changed my mind. to me it looks like airplanes maybe with their lights on and they're flying out of the way of the storm. look at the 1st one as it exits the screen, at that moment it looks like a passenger plane.

a passenger plane that size would easily be able to outrun the cloud which was reported as traveling around 70mph at its peak. I'm not a pilot but I'm guessing a banking manuever back into the cloud even at a higher elevation would not be the recommended choice to make....shrug

I agree with armedequation, one of "our" aircraft wouldn't fly into that cloud, I would think that their top priority would be to avoid it. That being said, I hope that the video hasn't been tampered with as this is the first time that I have seen or heard of it.

Because the no sound from the video bothered me (always a red flag these things are hoaxes). I analyzed them again. I did notice the one object got closer to the camera and was not followed so we could get a good look at it. I wonder why they would not do that as it was very clear at that time and you could see three lights? Something is very fishy here, and I think this is a nice hoax put up by the Sun so people can forget about the scandal.

I do think the pilots are taking a big chance as the dirt can really mess up an engine and cause the plane to crash. I have seen damage from birds first hand, it it is not pretty. I can only imagine what thick dust, dirt and small stones can do.

That is one reason why I was hoping it would be a flying disk as they do not have our conventional engines and don't have to worry about that.

Yeah i was excited when I saw that too. =( But then my other friend showed me the one with the clearer view of the planes light. probably just happened and they were in flight when the storm got closer than they expected. My friend is a pilot and he flies through everything!

The producers / Director could have been telling them to "keep a distance" with the camera? It's been my experiences in the past that with things as "controversial" as this that they don't want to get to close and reveal to much. I remember asking an huge reporter, from ABC News out in LA, when he was in my old City, why they weren't reporting on many things. And, I was told that basically, he valued his life and paycheck above 'the truth'.

i tried freezing the video as the first object exited the field of view, the area around 'the orb' became very pixelated - implying digital manipulation...

My spidey senses tell me - those who control the media are creating hoaxes to hide the truth of the real ones...

really where does it all end? Why hide anything? I don't think aliens would really shock people this day and age. Maybe 20 years ago but not now.
