Following seasons of A/A compared to season one

Postby goldenstar » Thu Sep 01, 2011 5:03 am

In my opinion, there has not been anything on TV, before or after, including season 2 or 3, or Ancient Aliens, that could EVER top the first season of A/A. I have always been interested in aliens, space, etc my whole life, but nothing has ever set me on fire or changed my mindset about life, the way that first season of A/A did. It was so filled with hard to dispute evidence, and eye opening facts, that my mind was totally blown. I really don't think they could ever top that season. I have never thought the same about anything since I first watched it. Though season 2 and so far season 3, have not been as life changing to me, and the things they talk about are more based on theory and folklore, etc, I STILL find them fascinating and they give me so much food for thought. I look as forward to each new episode now as I did with the first season. Anything that causes me to think out of the box and think "what if" and just imagine all sorts of things is a good thing.

I will continue to be an Ancient Alien series watcher until they show the very last episode, which I hope will be a long time from now. And even after then, I will continue to watch the DVDs I have, and will purchase, of the episodes. I have so much to thank that series for. For giving me a new perspective of the world, who we are, and where we could have come from. :)

Well, I think the main thing the first season had going for it was the LONGER episodes! There were fewer episodes, so they could spend more time on the subject at hand, which resulted in really good shows.

I personally prefer the shows in the second season as far as the information and how it was presented. I would've preferred that they were longer like the first season, but the subjects they brought up were really great and they did as much with the material in the time alloted as they could.

Third season, yes, has been an overall disappointment. If THIS season had been season two, we could call it their "Sophomore Slump"! I sure hope things pick up, as it seems that most of these season three shows have been "light" on the "NEW" info and also light on the analysis...not at all the hard-hitting stuff from the first two seasons. Here's hoping!

We'll probably wait until they come out with the full third season and get the set. Buying individual episodes is too costly!

I also agree that the third season has been a little slow (for me). I don't know if it's because of all the reading I've done since I watched the first season, or if it's because they're recycling some of the same material, but it doesn't seem to show any new evidence and connections the way the previous seasons did.

My favorite episode this season has to be "Aliens and Sacred Places". I loved seeing those temples in Ethiopia and the Ajanta caves in India. All of it is so fascinating!!!

One thing is for certain though, I'll take slow episodes of A/A over no episodes any day!! I've combed Youtube looking for other shows and/or documentaries discussing similar subject matter and come up short!! A/A has awakened a thirst within me like nothing before and I find myself researching History in a way I've never done before. Every spare minute I have I'm reading up on Ancient Civilizations and cultures, connecting dots, and making sense of the world.

What frustrates me the most, is how hard it is to get other people to just even open their minds a little and explore the possibilities. When ever I try to strike up a conversation with a friend/family about what could have happened so long ago, it's like they're hardwired to have a mental block. Religion is accepted and respected with out any proof, but yet no one takes me serious at all when discussing the notions of ancient alien intervention.

I know I'm preaching to the choir here, but it will forever boggle my mind how some people will unquestioningly believe there's an old man sitting on a throne in the sky somewhere pulling all the strings. And the notion that other life from this inconceivably vast universe stopped here for a visit is just mental. ~_~

Pensive, I agree, there are so many people that are so closed minded. Their ingrained beliefs will not budge. I have a very open mind and can't help but wonder about all these things. It's so exciting to think about. :)

I second that one. Maybe they went heavy on the first one because there was not certainty that it would become a series. And now, they must show up with new evidences on every episode.

I usually enjoy the "hard evidences" better. Interesting sites with all the analysis. That, instead of the episodes focused on scriptures, which demand too much speculation, some times forced speculations.

Season 1 showed interesting sites with a lot of analysis, researches, theories, so forth.

However, most of the interesting sites from season 2 on, left a lot of questions behind. I wish some upcoming season to revisit those sites after some sort of research or new theory.
