My son saw something strange...

My son was target practicing somewhere along the Mad River with his cousins, aunt, and uncle. As they were walking back to the car my son said that he held back and found a spot to pee.This allowed for the rest of the group to advance ahead of him. He was heading along the trail to catch up, when out of the corner of his eye he saw something hanging in a tree. He looked and it was a figure of a being, kind of a man type shape. He said it had no recognizable face and that it's skin was dark and leathery. He said that it frightened him and ran down the trail. Has anyone ever heard of a creature like this? I don't want to dispute him because of my own experiences, as we all know anything is possible.

Sounds like Mothman and I am glad your boy ran as quickly as possible. There have been a lot of sightings of winged humanoid creatures. I am not sure if they are all aliens or paranormal, but there are many good sightings of such creatures.

West Virginia is where the most famous (or infamous) sighting happened in the 1960s. Mothman has been sighted all around the world with some good cases out there.

Thanks for the responses. The thing he saw did not have a face. He said it was very dark in color. The mothman has red eyes according to witness testimony.

Some sightings of mothman show the creature may not have a head either.



It is possible the creature was sleeping and did not see your son which could explain why no red glowing eyes were visible.

Yes, that could be. He said that it was just hanging there, on a branch. The poor thing refused to sleep in his room alone for almost a week.

I don't blame him. I read the Mothman Prophecies as a youngster and could not sleep for weeks after that. I can't imagine sleeping after seeing that beast. It still gave me the creeps looking for the image of Mothman.

That has triggered a memory of me drawing a black shape with red eyes, when I was a kid... don't remember anything else, just the red eyes on the black.
